Born and raised in Athens, Georgia, Jay Florence has built his career on integrity, leadership, and a passion for serving others. Today, he resides in Athens with his wife, Katherine, and their two sons, Liam and Baker.

Jay attended the University of Georgia, where he graduated in 2006 before earning his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 2010. His early career was spent at the Georgia Department of Insurance, where he rose through the ranks from Enforcement Attorney to Deputy Commissioner. In these roles, Jay worked extensively with insurance regulation, financial oversight, and legislative affairs, gaining unmatched expertise in the financial and insurance industries.

Following his public service, Jay accepted a Vice President position at an insurance firm that specializes in helping companies establish and manage various self-insurance arrangements financed through Captive Insurance Companies. He stayed with that firm as it grew and was ultimately acquired by a large, publicly traded insurance agency.

Jay founded Summit Life Financial to bring his knowledge and passion directly to families planning their financial futures. Today, he serves as an investment advisor, working one-on-one with clients to provide personalized investment advice, retirement income strategies, and portfolio management tailored to their goals.
